Pioneer Valley Worker Center

The immigrant community faces deep wounds starting with the painful decision to leave their countries and families, and they often struggle with isolation, language barriers, and discrimination. The FOWH grant will support community-building activities like family get-togethers with food, music, and games to strengthen relationships and unity, especially during the challenges of a new administration. It will also fund stress-relieving therapies, such as yoga and massage classes, and the distribution of medicinal plants through a partnership with People’s Medicine Project. Additionally, the grant will help create spaces for storytelling, where community members can share their immigration experiences, fostering healing and belonging. Through these initiatives, the organization aims to empower its members, heal, and build solidarity, deepening connections within their community.
