Stories Inspiring Movements
SIM has faced numerous challenges, including burnout, inter-organizational conflict, and the emotional toll of resisting anti-immigrant policies. The FOWH grant will support SIM’s strategic and cultural alignment process between October 2024 and January 2026, focusing on healing, rest, and building generative conflict skills. This process will begin with 1:1 interviews with key stakeholders to gather insights that will inform an intensive three-day retreat for staff, board, and community members. The retreat will focus on assessing SIM’s internal structures, aligning on purpose and strategies, and strengthening trust within the organization. By the end of the process, SIM aims to emerge stronger, with renewed capacity to foster healing and continue empowering immigrant youth for the long term.
