The organizing and civic engagement field often demands high-capacity jobs, many of which are seasonal for elections or campaigns, requiring long hours and intense interaction with communities. This environment leads to burnout and high turnover, making it crucial to find ways to support workers during these intense periods and provide restorative time for those dedicated to building a just world. The MVT team is eager to build on the success of last year's retreat, made possible by this grant. At their weekly staff meetings, they continue to prioritize check-ins and host annual retreats with organizational partners. This time together is crucial for team building, restorative healing, and preparing both physically and emotionally for the year ahead, focusing on rest and rejuvenation rather than work goals.
